Teen Library Council

Join the Teen Library Council to help make the Norfolk Public Library a place where you can be yourself and find stuff you want. We WANT your input! The TLC does fundraising, helps at our bake sale, book sale, and some children's programs, plans programs for their peers, and selects stuff for the library to buy.

What's the payoff? Community service hours (if you need them), meeting new people and new books, and an end-of-the-year sleepover celebration in the library with a scavenger hunt, movie, pizza, and more.

-The second Wednesday of the month is our mandatory general meeting from 3:30-4:30pm. Dates are subject to adjustment for holidays or school programs. If you miss more than 4 meetings without notifying Marissa, you may not attend the sleepover.
-The fourth Wednesday of the month is an optional book discussion, same time, same place. Bring a book suggestion to the meeting and if yours is picked, you get to be the next host.

Students from ANY town are welcome!

Apply for the group online here and register for our first meeting on September 14 at 3:30pm at this link. Contact Marissa Antosh, Senior Youth Services Librarian, at for more details. Depending on how many applications we get, we may fill the group by lottery.
