Holiday Mail for Heroes
11122013_54938_0.png
Each year, the American Red Cross distributes holiday cards to veterans, military families and active-duty service members at hospitals, military installations, and other locations around the world. Join the Norfolk Public Library in spreading holiday cheer this year in either of the following ways:

1) Fill out a holiday card here at the library.
-Ensure that all cards are signed. Please include an age or grade for children and teens.
-Use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.”
-The American Red Cross is only accepting cards. Please do not include letters, photos, email addresses, or home addresses. This is not a pen pal program.

2) Create your own card at home.
-Ensure that all cards are signed. Please include an age or grade for children and teens.
-Use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.”
-The American Red Cross is only accepting cards. Please do not include letters, photos, email addresses, or home addresses. This is not a pen pal program.
-Please refrain from choosing or creating cards with glitter or using loose glitter as it can aggravate health issues of ill and injured warriors.
-Do not put your card in an envelope.

Return all cards to the Norfolk Public Library by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29th. We will mail them to the Red Cross for distribution.

(If you have leftover holiday cards that you'd like to donate to the library for this program, please bundle them in a rubber band without their envelopes and bring them to the information desk ATTN: Marissa Antosh)
